MCManhunt
The only large server built entirely around Manhunt. Automated matchmaking, tracking compasses, and nine modes: Manhunt and its twists, Hitman, Block Shuffle, Random Items Challenge, Death Swap, Bingo, Speedrun, Lava Rises and a PvP Arena. Over 1,500,000 unique players since 2020. No Bedrock support yet.
Tumbleweed MC
A small variety network where Manhunt is genuinely a headline mode, offering both public games and private /party matches. Two things it has that MCManhunt does not: Bedrock crossplay (via Bedrock.TumbleweedMC.com) and older-version support back to 1.8. The trade-off is population — you may wait for a game.
Listed under “Manhunt”, but not Manhunt servers
These are all real, active servers worth playing — they simply do not run Manhunt, despite appearing in Manhunt categories on directory sites. Tags on those sites are self-declared, which is why the category rankings are a poor guide.

Currently ranked top of minecraft-mp.com’s Manhunt category, but we could not find a Manhunt mode advertised anywhere by the server itself — its own MOTD lists Crystal PvP, Survival, Practice and EcoCPvP. A healthy Indonesian PvP network, and a good pick if that is what you want.

RelayMC ran a genuine ranked Manhunt mode with 1v1, 2v2 and party games, and was the closest direct alternative to MCManhunt. It is now offline, with live pinging paused by its owner. It still appears in older lists and articles.
About Hypixel and MoxMC
Several widely-shared “best Manhunt servers” articles recommend Hypixel and MoxMC. Both recommendations are wrong, and they are easy to check yourself.
Hypixel has never released a Manhunt game. Its roster is BedWars, SkyWars, SkyBlock and similar; every Manhunt thread on its forums is a player suggestion.
MoxMC is Purple Prison. Ping moxmc.net and the server message that comes back reads “PURPLE PRISON”. It is a prison server with no Manhunt mode — and some of those articles list MoxMC and Purple Prison as two separate entries.

You do not need mods or a datapack. On a dedicated server everything runs server-side, so a vanilla Java client works:

What is the best Minecraft Manhunt server?
MCManhunt is the largest server dedicated entirely to Manhunt, with over 1,500,000 unique players since 2020, servers in Europe and North America, and automated matchmaking so you never have to organise a game yourself. Tumbleweed MC is the main alternative that genuinely runs Manhunt, and it supports Bedrock crossplay, though its population is much smaller.
Does Hypixel have Minecraft Manhunt?
No. Hypixel is the largest Minecraft network, but it has never shipped a Manhunt game. Its documented roster covers BedWars, SkyWars, SkyBlock and similar modes, and every Manhunt thread on its forums is a player suggestion rather than a released game. Articles listing Hypixel as a Manhunt server are inaccurate.
Is MoxMC a Manhunt server?
No. As of 24 August 2026 the address moxmc.net resolves to Purple Prison, a prison server — its live server message reads "PURPLE PRISON". It has no Manhunt mode. Several "best Manhunt server" articles list MoxMC and Purple Prison as two separate entries, but they are the same server under two names.

RelayMC ran a genuine ranked Manhunt mode with 1v1, 2v2 and party games, but the server is offline and has been for over 30 days, with live pinging paused by its owner. It still appears in older server lists and articles.
Do you need mods or a datapack to play Manhunt?
Not on a dedicated server. On MCManhunt everything runs server-side, so you join with a vanilla Minecraft Java client on 1.21 or newer and the tracking compass, matchmaking and game rules are handled for you. Datapacks are only needed if you want to run Manhunt yourself in a private world.
Can you play Minecraft Manhunt on Bedrock Edition?
Mostly no. MCManhunt is Java Edition 1.21+ only, with Bedrock support planned but not released. Tumbleweed MC does offer Bedrock crossplay, which currently makes it the practical option for console and mobile players who want Manhunt.
